Mary Frances Walters![]() Hi, my name is Mary Schultz. I am originally from Fish Creek, WI where I grew up no stranger to physical labor, bailing hay and picking cherries. I am the youngest of three very athletic children who have all turned fitness into a career. My brother is the head golf professional at Oneida County Club in Green Bay, and my sister is a Physical Education teacher in Janesville. I was a three sport athlete in high school and then went on to play college volleyball right here at UWSP. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion/Wellness with an emphasis in personal training and facility management. I also have a minor in coaching and I am a massage therapist. I was a personal trainer and massage therapist in Green Bay for four years, prior to returning to Stevens Point to join the Adventure 212 Fitness team. My passion in life is to help people achieve personal wellness in whatever capacity that may be. My goal is to always have my clients leave feeling better than when they came in and to always be able to put a smile on their face. LIVE WELL….LAUGH OFTEN….and always remember … LIFE IS TOO SHORT. Chad Sparling While attending high school I ran D1 varsity track for four years, being captain of the team both my junior and senior year. After high school I took a position as a track and field sprint coach before attending UWSP, where I than competed at the collegiate level. I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Promotion/Wellness with a minor in Nutrition from UW-Stevens Point as well as becoming a Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute. I am now working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I enjoy meeting and working with a wide variety of individuals with fitness levels to accomplish varying personal goals. Whether you are a competitive athlete or looking to incorporate a sustainable healthy lifestyle, I am confident that the knowledge I possess will allow you to achieve your goals. Stephanie Fox I have always lived and active
lifestyle, playing sports in school, coaching during college and then competing
in races and triathlons. My passion for
fitness lead me to becoming a Group Fitness instructor in 2012 and then
becoming a personal trainer in 2014.
Trainer Certifications: (CT) Personal Training – ISSA, Pre and Post Natal – ACE, Group Fitness – NETA Training Philosophy or Slogan: I believe in the growth of the human self, spirituality and physically. Through a dynamic and progressive system of cardiovascular and weight resistance training! The Primary reason I decided to become a personal trainer is: To help others reach their goals and stay motivated. I have had some amazing trainers in the past that have shown me how to push myself further than I ever imagined I could…I want to help others do the same! One of the primary reasons I’m so passionate about fitness is: Because staying healthy now and maintaining good health can help fight off diseases in the future. I want to be healthy and help others be healthy so we can enjoy a longer, healthier life. My approach to training people is different because: I treat everyone as an individual. Not all workouts should be the same, each person I work with gets their own tailored workouts to match their abilities and goals. I feel the most important aspect of fitness is: Making fitness part of our everyday routine. Our everyday life can be so stressful, making time for fitness should not be an added stress. Kayla Skotzke I grew up in a small town on the lake with two older
sisters and one younger brother. From the time we could walk, our parents
strongly encouraged us to play outside instead of watching tv or playing video
games, and we weren't allowed to drink soda or ear potato chips! My parents
kept us healthy, but didn't take the best care of themselves. My mom had cancer
and my dad had heart surgery at different times, so we were in the hospital
quite often. I was intrigued by everything inside the hospital, especially the
doctors which lead to me wanting to be a doctor. Once in college, I realized I
wanted to focus on helping prevent all these unnecessary diseases rather than
only treating them. I switched from being a chemistry major to a health
promotion major in hopes of making a difference with prevention in any way
possible!
Trainer Certifications: ASFA Training Philosophy or Slogan: Everybody starts somewhere. Never talk negatively about yourself. Be proud of the progress you have made so far, but never settle for anything less than what you are capable of accomplishing. The Primary reason I decided to become a personal trainer is: When I became a health promotion major, my goal was to start my career as a personal trainer. I often dealt with having depression and anxiety in my own life and found that exercising regularly and eating well was the best form of therapy. I hired a personal trainer myself a while back, and I felt amazing!! This only solidified my longing to be a personal trainer. One of the primary reasons I’m so passionate about fitness is: I started playing sports at a very early age. I was the girl on the playground who played basketball with the boys and beat 'em too! In high school, I played soccer, volleyball, and basketball and was successful in all three sports especially in soccer winning all-conference my freshman year. I moved on to play college soccer at UWSP where I discovered weight training. We would lift at 6 in the morning 3 days a week during the off-season, and I loved it (not so much the early mornings but the weight lifting)! I continued to lift and workout with my brother, a marine, after I left the team and became obsessed with building muscle and gaining strength! There is no better feeling than being strong, and building physical strength beeps to build mental strength. My approach to training people is different because: I used to train with my brother before he was deployed, and he used to kick my butt! He trained very intensely and pushed me to my limits. I took a lot of what I learned from him about training and put it into my personal training methods. I believe our bodies are capable of some pretty incredible feats, and I want to help people gain confidence in themselves be reaching what they thought to be insurmountable obstacles! I feel the most important aspect of fitness is: I feel the most important aspect of fitness is finding what you enjoy most about working out and GO DO THAT. Everyone enjoys different types of training scanner it be yoga, running, biking, swimming, group fitness, weight lifting, body weight cardio, TRX, or anything else you could possibly think of. Of course, incorporating different modes of exercise into your regimen is important, and I encourage people to always try new things. The possibilities are endless, so there is no excuse for not working out!
